L.A. Headlines

As the local media goes gaga over rain coverage (It's gonna rain! All weekend! Rain!), I thought I'd scan the lead items on local media websites.

Sure enough, storm coverage dominates -- although KABC/7 and KTLA/5 favor Robert Blake news. (A local news director's dilemma: STORM WATCH or CELEBRITY MURDER TRIAL?)

The lead story, as of 3 p.m.:

KNBC/4: Storm Slams Southland With Heavy Rain, Hail

KABC/7: Testimony: Actor's Anguish at Wife's Shooting Seemed Real

Co-owned KCBS/2 and KCAL/9: Rain Hampers Commute

KTTV/Fox 11: Storm moves into California; wet holiday weekend expected

KTLA/WB 5: Blake Lawyer Hammers Accusers

KCOP/UPN 13: Valentine's Day: Private Driver (Not too much of a surprise, UPN 13 doesn't bother putting news headlines on its site, just links to recent story subjects)

Meanwhile, it's almost too easy to compare, but I will anyway. Here's what the newspapers are up to:

Los Angeles Times: Series of Blasts, Aimed at Shiites, Kill 19 in Baghdad

Daily News: Four blasts kill at least 28 in Baghdad

Uh, hellooooo, guys, it's raining outside!
