The Ugh-mazing Race

Booooo! Last night's sixth season finale of Franklin Avenue's patron reality show, The Amazing Race, left us cold. So-called model Freddy and xenophobe Kendra made it to the finish line in Chicago first, collecting a cool $1 million. Our picks, Kris and Jon, wound up second.

I knew Kris and Jon were finished as we watched them try to catch a flight from Honolulu to Chicago via American. United has many more flights between the two, a lucky break for Freddy and Kendra.

Joe breaks news in today's Variety about the eighth and ninth editions of the show, which CBS has just greenlit. Eighth version will stray from the usual formula with a "family edition": The four members of each team (rather than the usual two) will all be related in some way.

Meanwhile, the season six team everyone loved to hate, Jonathan Baker and Victoria Fuller, will appear next Wednesday on a "Dr. Phil" special. Victoria -- a Playboy Playmate Miss January 1996 -- will be back behind the camera in an upcoming issue of the mag. And how do I know? I'm writing the companion piece!
