Tonight: Choose Your Christmas Lighting Ceremony

You won't have to go far to find a Christmas tree lighting tonight: Atwater Village, Chinatown and Culver City, among other neighborhoods and cities, are all flipping the switch this evening.

Wells Fargo Parking Lot, 3250 Glendale Blvd. Caroling starts along Glendale Blvd. at 4:30; tree is lit at 6 p.m. Presented by the Atwater Village Chamber of Commerce and the Atwater Village Neighborhood Council. Hot Cocoa donated by New Hope Chapel. Snow and Santa will also make a visit.

The Noble Fir will be decorated by renowned floral and holiday designer Brad Schmidt in a uniquely Chinatown theme. This event will be held at Central Plaza in Chinatown, 943 N. Broadway, Los Angeles 90012.

Holiday beverages and snacks will be served. This event is free and open to all ages.

:: Culver City's annual tree lighting also takes place at 6 p.m. near the Culver Hotel. Details:

Kick off the holidays in downtown Culver City with our annual Downtown Tree Lighting Celebration presented by the Downtown Business Association, City of Culver City and Culver City Redevelopment Agency. Again this year we "Go Green!" lighting a 22 foot artificial tree beautifully lit with LED lights, making this holiday celebration "green" and energy efficient. Please join us as we light the holiday tree with special guests. Stay and stroll downtown, visiting many of our wonderful downtown restaurants and retailers.

In case your Thursday is booked, no fear: More tree lightings take place around the city this Saturday.
