Which Radio Station Will Go All-Christmas First, And When?

Last year, 94.7 KTWV-FM "The Wave" pulled a fast one on rival 103.5 KOST-FM and launched its all-Christmas format the night of Sunday, November 13. KOST, which traditionally OWNS the all-Christmas niche here in Southern California, didn't take the competition lying down, and quickly followed suit.

Expect the rivalry to be just as fierce this year -- which makes me assume that the Big Christmas Flip will happen this weekend. But when? And who will go first?

In 2010, KOST went all-Christmas on the Thursday before Thanksgiving. In 2011, The Wave flipped to all-Christmas on Sunday, Nov. 13. So it's time to lay down a wager: When will the first station go all-Christmas this year, and which one? Leave your guesses in the comments!

KOST all the way! Why haven't they jumped the gun done it already? Disappointing.

I think The Wave goes first again because KOST has no need to rush as the overall higher-rated station and most preferred for X-mas music. I'll take The Wave flipping Friday, November 9th at 5:00 p.m. while KOST will flip sometime the following Friday.

Meanwhile, I'll be listening to KSPC with its new and much larger transmission area. Christmas in November? Bah, humbug! ;-)

I wish they would both wait until the day after Thanksgiving!

I'm STILL waiting for 'an All-Island-All Christmas Radio' Are you listening Skye? Aloha Radio, all holiday programs? Someone has to throw down and be the first. Don Ho shirts optional, Karl Rove could do the demo-ish math, All Koch sponsored, + plus others wanting the 'good-old days' 'Ward, I think the Beaver wants a show, but Eddie will end up a team with Mike!'What no promos for dating sites or shoe sales in the comments? Is THIS a site or what ?
