L.A. September Radio Ratings: KIIS Back On Top; El Mandril Extends Morning Streak

KLAX-FM morning host Ricardo "El Mandril" Sanchez (above), who recently scored a glowing Page 1 profile in the Los Angeles Times, has now won his fourth month in a row as the No. 1 morning radio show in Los Angeles. According to the recently released Arbitron ratings for September, El Mandril received a 6.9% share of the 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. audience among listeners over the age of 12.

El Mandril was also a dominant No. 1 with listeners 18-34, averaging a 11.5% share. And he was No. 1 with listeners 25-54 (8.2% share).

KROQ's Kevin & Bean landed the most-listened-to morning show among English speakers, and No. 2 overall, in listeners 12+ (4.9%) and 25-54 (6.5%). KIIS' Ryan Seacrest was No. 2 with the 18-34 crowd (7.2%).

In total day (6 a.m. to midnight) listening, KIIS-FM is back to No. 1 after ceding the top spot to KBIG the last five months. Here are the rankings:
