For the third year in a row I had the opportunity to sit at one of the press tables at the Golden Globe Awards, and although we're in the back, it's the perfect vantage point for celebrity sightings. As everyone rushes down to their tables, they pass right by us. The problem is people move so fast that you miss most great shots — but these were my three favorites from this year: The Rock, Tom Hanks and the one and only Tommy Wiseau.

The Three Best Celebrity Sightings at This Year's Golden Globe Awards
For the third year in a row I had the opportunity to sit at one of the press tables at the Golden Globe Awards, and although we're in the back, it's the perfect vantage point for celebrity sightings. As everyone rushes down to their tables, they pass right by us. The Best TV Promo, Perhaps Ever
It's popular to complain that the networks don't give fair shakes to critics and fan favorites like NBC's "Community" and ABC's "Cougar Town," but to some degree that's always been the case. Check out this slightly subversive 1981 promo for ABC's "Bosom Buddies," in which the stars make light of returning to the airwaves after their third hiatus in a year -- and then start dancing the "network shuffle." (In a nice touch, they're even wearing track suits with the ABC logo. I can almost guarantee you it was done with nothing but sarcasm in mind.) It's a cheeky stab at the network for handling their show with something less than respect, and yet ABC ran it. Check it out, above.

Conan Comes to Los Angeles: Tom Hanks and the Virtues of In-N-Out Burger
On Monday, Will Ferrell gave Conan O'Brien a gag list of things to do in L.A. (see it here). For night two, guest Tom Hanks gave a very real shout-out to In-N-Out Burger:
"One of the true great things about Los Angeles is In N Out Burger. You have to speak a special language, you have to say, 'Give me a 4x4 Animal Style.'
"It solves every problem. Sometimes there's an In N Out Burger mobile, which, Batman did not have a better thing. Sometimes you work on a movie and you're there until 3:00 in the morning. Good news is, at midnight, know what's showing up? The In N Out Burger mobile. So everyone's happy. You can't get the shake, but you know what? You don't need that much dairy. So just ply them with Double Doubles and you're home free.
"I'm not an owner, I'm just a satisfied customer."
You can't buy that kind of advertising. Well, actually, you could... but it wouldn't be cheap. Tom Hanks has suddenly become the spokesperson for In-N-Out Burger -- and the chain didn't have to pay him a dime. That's called a win.
