Quarantine Baking: Croissant French Toast with Butterscotch Apples and Sesame Brittle

To promote his upcoming cooking competition "Next Level Chef" for Fox, Gordon Ramsay held a live, virtual set tour and cook-along demonstration as we watched from our kitchen. It took us three times as long as it did for Gordon to make this sweet brunch treat, but it paid off in the end: Delicious. I mean, you can't go wrong with croissants, custard, carmelized apples and more. Nathan helped as my sous chef.

Looking for L.A.'s Most Nightmarish Kitchens

A casting agent for the Fox reality show "Kitchen Nightmares is looking for Los Angeles-area restaurants in desperate need of some TLC.

As you probably know, "Kitchen Nightmares" stars tough-love chef Gordon Ramsay as he takes over a failing or dysfunctional restaurant and attempts to whip it into shape. The casting agent explains:

We are currently casting in the Los Angeles area, looking for restaurants with great potential that need significant help to put them back on the right track, whether it's issues with food, service, management, ownership, etc... We also love to incorporate the help of local restaurant enthusiasts and professionals who know the ins and outs of the LA scene.

Gordon Ramsay's Los Angeles Kitchen Nightmare

New Fox series "Kitchen Nightmares" -- which stars Chef Gordon Ramsay ("Hell's Kitchen") as he serves up some tough love at failing restaurants around the country -- hit several spots in Southern California. (You'll see some of 'em -- including eateries in Moorpark and Tujunga -- in the coming weeks.)

But one L.A. restaurant scheduled to appear on "Kitchen Nightmares" wound up going out of business before the cameras arrived. Chef Ramsay and company were planning on making a visit to Delmonico's on Pico in order to breathe some new life into the fading restaurant (where I'd eaten too many times to remember over the years, usually with people coming from the Fox or Sony lots).

But Delmonico's wound up going out of business at the end of February, right before "Kitchen Nightmares" would have shot there.

Meanwhile, according to this, the Moorpark restaurant visited by Ramsay appears to be The Secret Garden.
