L.A. Gets a Little More Snarky

Welcome to the L.A. blog world Mediabistro's FishBowlLA, which plans to focus on the world of media in L.A. An early glance looks to be heavily Hollywood-centric. Just like Mediabistro's new FishBowlNY is apparently going after the Gawker readership (FishBowlNY is written by original Gawker scribe Elizabeth Spiers), FishBowlLA seems to have its sights on Gawker's L.A. sibling, Defamer. (Another new site, FishBowl DC, goes after territory currently covered by a third Gawker entry, Wonkette.)

FishBowlLA is written by Michael Sonnenschein; site officially went live today. From the site's about page: "(Sonnenshein) lives in Los Angeles, where he writes for television and contributes to LA Innuendo, a magazine and website about Southern California life and culture. He has never worked professionally as a journalist. However, he often goes to parties attended by journalists, at which he stands in the corner eating chips and watching these professional journalists move around the room. He hopes to bring this expertise to Fishbowl LA."
