No Longer Lovin' It
I noticed the other day (as did Yeah, But At Least I Live in Los Angeles) that the stylized McDonald's at the corner of Sunset and Highland had disappeared.
You probably know it best as the McDonalds across the street from Hollywood High School, the one with the retro Speedee mascot sign.
Now, the sign is gone, the restaurant is boarded up (and covered in grafitti) and a "for sale" sign is up. I'm taking that McDonald's won't be returning. Any one know what happened? Did a health code violation shut it down?
Meanwhile, in other fast food news, Jollibee -- the Philippines' No. 1 fast food chain -- is opening another location in L.A., this time on Beverly Blvd. The new location comes following the mega success of Jollibee's Eagle Rock mall location. Several months after it opened, lines of customers still snake down the mall during meal times. We stopped by today, on the way to Target, and split a halo-halo supreme.
