THANKS to everyone who participated in THE GREAT LOS ANGELES WALK 2009!
More than 250 walkers joined us as we hiked down Adams and Washington Boulevards, from Downtown Los Angeles to Venice Beach. Read the recap (and see pics -- including a cameo by Magic Johnson!) here!

Franklin Avenue's Twitter feed was the first news source ANYWHERE to report David Letterman's extortion scandal. For TV scoops, L.A. news and random musings, follow us here.

Yes, Virginia, There Is A Tacky David-Loving House in Hancock Park

And it only gets even tackier this time of year, as Losanjealous snaps a pic:

It's a reliable symbol of the holiday season, along with the reopening of the Downtown on Ice and the fake snow at the Grove. Once a year the owners of this gaudy Hancock Park house break out the equally gaudy Christmas decorations. Its David statues are adorned with mini Santa hats, while lights (and this year a "FEED HIS PEOPLE" sign) are slapped on the home's overpowering white metal fencing and security bars. Ho ho ho!
