If A Tree on Pax TV Falls, Does Anyone See It?
February sweeps are over, and here's my favorite statistic coming out of the Los Angeles market this month:
Remember family-friendly broadcaster Pax TV? They changed their name last September to "i." They also dumped every last ounce of original programming, and now run repeats of shows no one watched to begin with, like "Doc."
The result? Pax... er, "i's" station in L.A., KPXN-TV (Channel 30) averaged a whopping 0.0 rating and 0 share among households in the market this February.
How about adults 18-49, the demo that advertisers love? Still a 0.0/0.
Adults 25-54, who might appreciate the station's older-skewing shows (like "Bonanza" repeats)? Again, a 0.0/0.
That's quite an achievement -- posting the same rating as channels that show nothing but empty static.
