Franklin Avenue's Election Endorsements

GOVERNOR: Eugene Gatling

It's a tough one, as incumbent Eugene Gatling's frequent missteps have been well-documented. Gatling is well-meaning, however, and is backed by a competent team, led by tempermental but effective chief of staff Clayton Endicott III. In his first term, Gatling even agreed to reduce his own costs when the state faced a budget cut. Gatling, moreover, manages to resolve most of his, his staff's and the state's problems within a short period of time. And for that, Franklin Avenue recommends that Gov. Gatling be given another term.

LT. GOVERNOR: Benson DuBois

State Budget Director Benson DuBois' meteoric rise to prominence in the state has also been well-documented. Starting out as Gatling's household leader, DuBois earned the Governor's respect -- some say by quickly becoming his closest confidant and the real power behind Gatling's success in office. (Consider him Gatling's own Karl Rove, just much less evil.) We whole-heartedly endorse DuBois as Gatling's new No. 2.
