THANKS to everyone who participated in THE GREAT LOS ANGELES WALK 2009!
More than 250 walkers joined us as we hiked down Adams and Washington Boulevards, from Downtown Los Angeles to Venice Beach. Read the recap (and see pics -- including a cameo by Magic Johnson!) here!

Franklin Avenue's Twitter feed was the first news source ANYWHERE to report David Letterman's extortion scandal. For TV scoops, L.A. news and random musings, follow us here.

Angry Hancock Park Resident Sends a Signal to 6th Street Speeders

When stoplights or speed bumps just don't do the trick. Who needs the city, when you can erect your own signs telling drivers to "SLOW... THE... F**K... DOWN!"

I love the BurmaShave quality -- someone spent some time erecting these four signs, rather than sticking with just one (or even four separate signs that said the same thing). Spotted this morning on 6th, near the Irving intersection.

ADD: Of course, I forgot to initially mention, and many of you reminded me, that this is right around the corner from the Getty House mayoral mansion in Windsor Square.

TUESDAY UPDATE: The signs are still, up, sorta. Check out the post above for how they have been censored.
