KNBC Gets Into "Showbiz"

NBC-owned Los Angeles outlet KNBC will launch the weekly series "Show Business With Bart and Guber" this Saturday.

Variety vice president and editorial director Peter Bart and Mandalay Entertainment chairman Peter Guber are hosts of the program, which bows at 5 p.m.

"Show Business" will feature discussion and analysis specifically designed for Los Angeles' showbiz community, and it will also feature elements from Bart and Guber's new Encore series "In the House."

"This show will offer a fresh perspective on the inner workings of the industry, and there's no better team to give us those insights than these industry icons," said KNBC prexy/general manager Craig Robinson.

The KNBC program, like the Encore series, will be produced by Starz and Encore, as well as RayV. The House of Bacardi is also a production partner on "Show Business" and "In the House."

"Showbiz" replaces "Whipnotic" and "In Wine Country," both of which had been airing Saturdays at 5 p.m. on KNBC, and both of which are now going out of production. The show airs after "Extra Weekend," and before the Saturday edition of the "NBC Nightly News."
