Thanks to Franklin Avenue reader Rich, who spotted this plate at the Glendale Galleria. "Wonder how this got past the DMV?" he asks. Rich calls it the "Racist License Plate of the Day" -- and indeed, if you read it as the spelling of a stereotypical pronunciation of "Hello," it is quite bizarrely offensive.
Yet this person is clearly a fan of Hello Kitty... so are they doing it in an ironic fashion? Or did they really mean it to say "Hero Kitty"? (At least, that's probably what they told the DMV.)
