Mike on TV: Talking Emmys and 'Downton Abbey' on PBS SoCal

I traveled down to Costa Mesa (!) the other day to appear as a guest on the KOCE-TV ("PBS SoCal") news show SoCal Insider. (Yes, the things I do for my media whoredom!) We had a good, wide-ranging conversation about the Emmys, "Downton Abbey," the current golden age of drama, TV's evolving platforms, the TV news biz, and a lot more. Watch the segment below.

Watch Is An Emmy in Downton Abbey's Future? on PBS. See more from SoCaL Insider with Rick Reiff.

I can't watch it at work, but I hope you talked about Downton Abbey instead of Downtown Abbey.

Yikes, just corrected it. Thankfully, that was just a typo, not an on-air goof!

Mike, we know you meant 'Downtown Arbys' the original basis for the now popular PBS series. A version staring Doty, Ed Arnold, the Chap-mon university legal eagles, plus the Daystar all stars ['isn't THAT special ?'] will be ready for the NEXT plea [bega]- thon [send us the 'old' KCET money please!] South OC money ELITE types will be lined up; Pledge-ing [not the lemon kind from J &J, a family company]. Mike, now worth the drive?? LA PBS for KOCE studios soon ???
