It's Like Sundance, But for Kids. And Not In Utah.
REDCAT (at Walt Disney Concert Hall) this weekend (and the following two after that) presents the third annual International Children's Film Festival. The event promises 70 films -- most short -- from around the globe.
The festival offers something for virtually everyone, including different age groups. This Sunday, for example, one of the showcases is geared toward children ages 3 and up: "Four-Legged, Finned And Furry Friends."
Other features include "Animated Genius: Films Of Will Vinton," the Claymation pioneer; that one is geared toward kids age 7 and up.
All-ages showcases include one that compiles animated shorts from Sweden; another centers on animated and live-action shorts about best friends.
Tickets are just $5 each. The festival continues through March 2; call the REDCAT box office at 213-237-2800 for tix.
