All Roads Lead to The Fonz
Perhaps it's something in the water, but I swear, it seems like everywhere I turn these days, there's Henry Winkler. Maria and I saw him at the TV Land awards a few weeks ago. We saw him again at ABC's 50 Anniversary gala. And there he was this past Sunday, at the Oscar party we went to (our other favorite sighting from that shindig: Soleil Moon "Punky Brewster" Frye). Meanwhile, Sieah (who works across the street) mentioned to us the other day that she saw Winkler eating lunch at the Marie Callender's across the street. (Indeed, the Fonz's offices are upstairs from Variety, although I've never seen him in the building). He's also producing a pilot for the WB about a young "MacGyver." And just this morning, while flipping through a copy of the National Enquirer (don't ask), there it was, a story about the real-life person who the Fonz character was supposedly modeled after.
What does this all mean? That in troubled times like this, we need the Fonz more than ever? Ayyyyyyyy.
