Hollywood Moment: #1 in a series
Sunday afternoon, Maria and I drove around the neighborhood on the way home and saw a few "open house" signs. Since we live in a fantasy world where we have fooled ourselves into thinking we might actually one day own a home, we decided to check them out. First house we saw was straight out of a time warp from 1974; it was a Very Brady House. But the second home we saw was beautiful. Newly remodeled, amazing views of the city and Hollywood hills and just perfectly designed.
$896,000.
Yeah. That will happen. It's the kind of house a wealthy, single actor might like. So who do we run into, also looking at the place, but Oscar-nominated thesp John C. Reilly, who happens to appear in every fine movie currently in theaters. Not every day you go house hunting with an Academy Award nominee. Of course, John could have whipped out a checkbook and bought it on the spot. We'll just keep walking by the house, in the Franklin Hills, and dream. Or stalk John C. Reilly if he moves in. (We've already shopped with him at the Hyperion Street Trader Joe's).
