I stumbled upon this while perusing the Honolulu Star-Bulletin. Damn, doesn't it sound good?!

These dishes were prepared by Randal Ishizu of the Ihilani Resort & Spa on "Hawaii's Kitchen" Sunday. The show airs at 5:30 p.m. on KHON.

Makaha Mango Oats and Vanilla Bean Smoothie
1 cup old-fashioned oats
1 cup 2 percent milk
2 cups mango, peeled and diced
1 vanilla bean
1/2 cup non-fat yogurt
2 cups ice

Soak oats in milk 1 hour.
Place mango pieces in a blender. Cut vanilla bean in half lengthwise; scrape pulp into blender with mangos. Add yogurt, ice and soaked oats. Blend on high until well-blended.

Taro Bread Pudding
4 cups bread, diced
1/2 cup onion, diced, cooked
1 cup taro, diced, cooked
1 cup fresh corn
1 teaspoon chopped thyme
1-1/2 cups heavy cream
6 eggs
Salt and pepper to taste
2 ounces gorgonzola cheese

Preheat oven to 300 degrees.
Combine ingredients in a pan. Bake about 30 minutes, until creamy but no longer runny.
