It's baaaack... KCRW goes into pledge drive mode on August 6; the begging continues until August 16. You've been warned.
Yes, I do pledge once a year... win one pair of tickets, and it pays for itself. I've not done such a stellar job picking premiums, on the other hand. The first year I pledged, I picked up a gift certificate to Caffe Luna on Melrose... which promptly closed due to health violations. Last year, I got a gift certificate to La Fondue in Studio City... which we finally used last week, just days before it expired.
On the other hand, pledge at the right time and you might land a free, year long subscription to Newsweek... I haven't had to pay for the newsmagazine in years.
