Where can I get some of these? My friend loves them and can't find them. I
wanted to find some. If you have any ideas I'd greatly appreciate hearing
how I can obtain these rare and difficult to find candies :) Thanks so much! Angela
That's an easy one. Head on down to Target, where they still have a large supply. Do yourself a favor and buy four bags -- freeze three of them, for consumption throughout the year. You're welcome.

Dear Mike or Maria,
Hello, how are you. I hope good. I have a question about the "Franklin Avenue" area, that you may be able to help me with. I am moving to L.A. on Friday and I was suppose to move in with a roommate that freaked out on me and lost his apartment. I now need a place to live and for cheap. I only have $200 to last me two weeks until my first paycheck. I know crazy huh. Well I can't find a roommate this quickly, so I think I have to live in a motel, weekly rate type situation. I know that you mostly do Restaurants, but I was curious if you may know of a place in the area that is maybe not safe from the drugs and things like that, but somewhere I can lay my head for a few hours keep my stuff and take a shower. I don't need a living situation more of a sleeping situation. But I heard that there are motels in the area that are like $88 a week which will work out well for me. But I am unsure what they are like and how safe they are. I just hope to live through the night you know, but don't care what goes on outside because I am not planning to stay to long, and meet friends. But if you know anything, or have any ideas I would be so happy to get anything. If you know what I am talking about $88 a week, I think it's on Los Angeles and 5th or sixth street. Is this a place that I could survive a couple of weeks at?
Thank you and hope to hear from you soon.

Anyone have advice for Terry? I gotta say, $88 a week sounds more than just a little sketchy; I'd check Craigslist in case there are any listings for people who need roommates now. Also check with USC or UCLA; you may be able to find a sublease while students are on winter break. When I first moved to L.A., I rented a room on the Westside from a guy who paid for his mortgage by renting out spare rooms to UCLA students (I wasn't one, but even better: I had a decent-paying job, but needed a few months to actively search for a permanent abode). Good luck.

hi, i love your blog! and it was cool to see you on "E!"
my wife and i are looking for a house, and adams hill is a place we're checking out. we're in a similar position to you guys -- young couple, starter house, etc. but we're new to l.a. and so we don't know a real estate broker we can trust. can you recommend someone who knows the market and will do right by us?
many thanks, keep up the good work, and by the way, thanks for the restaurant recs., which are very valuable to newbies like us.
best,
barry
Again, I open it up to the floor. Maria and I are pleased to hear people checking out the 'hood, thanks in part to the Los Angeles mag article.

Julia Roberts isn’t the only one with strangely named twins. LA.com announces the birth of its second blog, ClothesHoarse. We hope you enjoy it.
Technically, this one wasn't just to us, but we like the LA.com folk, so thought we'd share anyway.
