Premiere Week Continues

Holy crap, how good was "Lost" last night? We finally got to see what was in the hatch -- and c'mon, how cool was it? Some Scottish guy named Desmond, stacked with a brand new washer and dryer, as well as a smoothie-making blender, ancient Apple IIe computer and loads of 70s era vinyl. (Wait, the hatch is a passageway to some slacker's apartment in Silver Lake?)

So many questions now. Why the old record player and computer, but brand new washer and dryer? (Is there a friggin Best Buy on the island?) Why was it nighttime outside, but daylight in the hatch? Who's being quarantined-- Desmond, or the rest of the island? Is Desmond the devil? (Remember, he asked Jack at the stadium why it looked like he was running from the devil!) What did Desmond mean when he told Jack at the stadium, "I'll see you in the next life"? Love that Jack was about to push the "execute" button on the computer as well.

Looks like Desmond has a sweet pad though. Good water pressure in the shower too. If I'm Jack, I'm tossing down my gun and announcing, "Desmond, this is all f--ed up, and I've got loads of questions... but can we talk after I take a quick shower and throw my stuff in your brand spanking new washer/dryer combo? You mind if I have the rest of that smoothie there? Oh, and is it cool if I make a post to my blog on that computer over there? It's been 40 days... I'm sure my hits are way down."

Meanwhile, dug the creepy, wet Walt (who apparently, according to the message boards, was speaking backwards). And c'mon Hurley, just tell everyone everything about the numbers already.

OK, on to Thursday night. Tonight's the premiere of the heavily hyped UPN sitcom "Everybody Hates Chris." Great show, but I'm concerned that the hype has been a little too much. It's not the second coming, it's just a great show. So don't come in with insanely high expectations, just enjoy it.
