Detour

"Amazing Race" season 6 winners Chip & Kim celebrate with us at the conclusion of last year's Mike & Maria's Halloween Housewarming Race

People have been asking us for the past two months about the third annual Mike & Maria race around Los Angeles.

The answer: It's coming. But we've hit a little roadblock (to use the venacular of Franklin Avenue's patron reality show, "The Amazing Race"): Blogger Baby, a.k.a. Evan.

We'd originally scheduled the third edition of our race on Nov. 5. But as the date approached, we realized we just didn't have enough time to plan for the big day.

Modeled after both "The Amazing Race" and the cult 1980 movie "Midnight Madness," it takes quite a bit of time, effort and planning to pull off our race... and with baby in tow, those are luxuries we just don't have at the moment.

Still, the race will return next spring, bigger, better and tougher than ever. In the meantime, a few more shots from Races 1 and 2:
