LOU FERRIGNO, ACTOR & WORLD CHAMPION BODY BUILDER TO GRADUATE FROM SHERIFF'S RESERVE ACADEMY

THE FORMER MR. UNIVERSE AND INCREDIBLE HULK WILL BE SWORN IN AS A RESERVE DEPUTY SHERIFF

Hollywood Meets Law Enforcement as Sheriff Lee Baca Presides

Los Angeles -- Lou Ferrigno, actor, world champion body builder, author, and health & fitness expert will be wearing a new hat- Literally! On February 13th at the Hall of Administration in downtown Los Angeles, Lou Ferrigno will be sworn-in as the newest Los Angeles County Reserve Deputy Sheriff. Mr. Ferrigno is a member of Class #105, which began training in September 2005. He will be required to complete at least twenty hours of service per month. He will be assigned to the Sheriff's Reserve Forces Bureau, Headquarters Unit and work on the recruitment of new deputies. He will also be working with the Sheriff's Youth Activities League (YAL) and the Special Victims Bureau, which works with abused children.

"Lou Ferrigno was an outstanding trainee and I know that he'll be an outstanding Reserve Deputy Sheriff", said Sheriff Lee Baca. "Reserve deputies serve without compensation, receiving only the great satisfaction of being of service to their community. Mr. Ferrigno will certainly help inspite those currently serving as reserves, and he'll be an encouragement to those who may wish to become reserve deputy sheriffs."

After a thorough and mandatory background check, Mr. Ferrigno successfully completed intensive training in firearms, CPR/First Aid, and EBOC high speed defensive driving techniques.

"I have a tremendous respect for the men and women in law enforcement", said Ferrigno. "I am proud to be able to partake and be part of the team to help these brave and dedicated deputy sheriffs in keeping Los Angeles County safe for the people who live, work and visit here."

Lou Ferrigno has always had a natural calling, passion, and respect for law enforcement. It was gained from his father, Matthew Ferrigno, a retired NYPD police lieutenant.

Mr. Ferrigno was only 21 when he won his first Mr. Universe title, a Guinness Book record that stands to this day. He won again at age 22 and to this day remains the only person to win consecutive titles.

Ferrigno successfully transferred his bodybuilding fame to a career on stage and film. His first film was a documentary, " Pumping Iron", a film with cult status that chronicled his exploits as the youngest person to become Mr. Universe. In less than a year after "Pumping Iron", Lou was again larger than life and created a new cult legend as the title character of the hit TV show " The Incredible Hulk".

Mr. Ferrigno later founded a successful personal training business that includes such star clientele as Mickey Rourke, Michael Jackson, and Chuck Norris. He also wrote three books: " Lou Ferrigno's Guide to Personal Power, Bodybuilding and Fitness", " My Life as the Incredible Hulk", and " The Incredible Lou Ferrigno".

Lou Ferrigno has invited many of his family, celebrity friends and co-workers to attend and share in this happy event with him.
