The meateaters at the Autry's BBQ competish could learn a thing or two from, of all people, the Tofu Fest folks.
At the annual Tofu Fest, held in Little Tokyo, food is everywhere. You can't go and not eat. Sadly, our experience at the BBQ'n at the Autry event this Saturday wasn't similar. We left without getting even a taste of BBQ on our tongues.
Perhaps we got there too late -- around 3. But only three booths were selling food -- and the lines snaked on and on. We could smell BBQ, but alas, we couldn't find many people actually eating it. (Which was a blessing in disguise, I suppose, since Maria and I would have had to cheat on our diets.)
Evan at least enjoyed the music, as well as the Autry's gift shop. Some pics:
