Is Caruso really wedded to the "Americana at Brand" name? I still don't get it. It's cumbersome, long, is hard to remember and doesn't easily roll off the tongue. Maybe he figures everyone's going to call it "The Grove East" anyway. Whatever, as long as it pumps up property values in Glendale proper.
Curbed LA also shares word (via the Daily Bruin) that inflation has once again hit Westwood's famed Diddy Riese cookie shop. The store raised the price on its cookies (to a still-awesome 35 cents) four years ago... and now its ice cream sandwiches have been bumped up to $1.25, from $1. Still one of the best deals in town.
