Honolulu anchor Joe Moore, who's been No. 1 in the islands for nearly 25 years, has built up enough of a mystique through the years that he can go semi-nuts on the air -- as he does in the fantastic, fantastic clip above -- and come away unscathed. (If anything, it's his unpredictability that has been a part of his staying power -- you never know when he might snap and go off on somebody or something on the air, including his station owners or the Fox network).
In the clip above, new KHON-TV owners Montecito Broadcast Group have installed an automated system at the station... and Joe is none too pleased. The new system is causing an echo in Joe's ear piece -- and he's pissed. (It's an amusing clip even if you don't know who Joe Moore is -- but any of you Hawai'i peeps out there will get a special kick out of it.)
