Counting Down L.A.'s Top Fictional Characters
Blogging.la has come up with one of the best local blog features I've seen in a while, the Top 25 Greatest Fictional Angelenos.
Narrowing down to just 25 finalists must have been difficult; The Blogging.la folks manage to come up with a list that includes characters from the worlds of literature, TV, film and more.
The roster includes "The Brady Bunch" housekeeper Alice; Pee-Wee Herman; "Fletch"; Sgt. Joe Friday; Norma Desmond; Roger Rabbit; and, of course, Mr. Furley (above).
Blogging.la still has five picks to go. Will Jack Bauer make the cut? Philip Marlowe? Ponch? ALF? Whatever the hell David Hasselhoff's character was on "Baywatch"? Irwin, the accountant slowly being killed by Larry "Your Mattress is FREE!" Miller? The choices are endless.
UPDATE: Hey! I got Philip Marlowe right; the character made the top five. The No. 1 choice? "Karate Kid's" Mr. Miyagi. Wax on!
