Burning Man Comes to L.A.

Contest time! First three Franklin Avenue readers to drop us an email will score a pair of tix (each) to this Saturday's LA Decompression.

What is it? Lauren e-mails:

Los Angeles Burning Man Decompression allows Los Angeles Area Burning Man attendees to recreate a microcosm of the annual counterculture festival and for curious newcomers to sample the Burning Man art, culture, fireballs, music, environment, explosions, community, etc. This year's street fair on Saturday, October 14th is anticipating 4,000+ attendees.

The event features theme camps, art cars, fire sculpture, art installations, paintings and photographic exhibits; as well as 7 stages presenting: visual performers, spoken word poetry, fire troupes, live bands, DJs, performance art, aerialists, and VJs.

The event takes place this Saturday from noon to midnight; entrance is at 1st and Vignes. If you don't score free tix from us, entrance is $10 if you're wearing "Playa outfits" (costume) or $20 without.

UPDATE: Congrats to David, Louis and Eric for winning the tix. Stay tuned for some reaction on how the event went!
