Memo to the L.A. Times: Please Stop Screaming At Me
Figured it was time to weigh in on the new L.A. Times front page redesign (seeing how everyone else has).
Things I like: The slightly larger logo. The placement and font used for the date. That awesome photo smack in the middle of the paper.
What I don't care for: The paper suddenly loves using those ANGRY SCREAMING ALL-CAPS, SANSERIF HEADLINES. Stop shouting! Also, the Column One is all text from top to bottom, making for way too much grey on one side of the page. Then there's the idea of just redesigning the front section: Everything else (Calendar, Business, etc) still looks the same. It feels a tad schizophrenic. I'd love to see more uniformity in design.
What's your take on the makover?
