Mickey Mouse Los Angeles



It's true -- the Brown Derby restaurant lives on. Just not in Los Angeles. As many of you know, a replica exists at the Disney-MGM theme park in Florida. LAist shares several photos of L.A.-ish attractions there, from a recent visit at the park.

In Disney-MGM's fake Hollywood, the Brown Derby is going strong. Check out this menu from the restaurant, which doesn't bother to mention that the real Brown Derby no longer exists. (And L.A. historians will blanch at several inaccuracies, such as the assertion that the Brown Derby's first location was at Hollywood and Vine.)

Still, it's the closest thing to the real thing these days... as we learned in August at the Brown Derby Days event, Brown Derby caricaturist Jack Lane even made copies of his drawings and sent them to Orlando, where they now once again adorn the walls like they did decades ago.
