Election Day 2006
Above, my nominee for most unfortunate candidate's name on this year's ballot: Richard "Dick" Mountjoy, Republican candidate for Senator. Really, Mr. Mountjoy? You really want people to refer to you as "Dick Mountjoy"? Perhaps that'll get you some votes in certain Chatsworth neighborhoods, but that's about it.
Meanwhile, Maria, Blogger Toddler and I hit our neighborhood residential-garage-turned-polling-station at 7:30 a.m. this morning, and the place was already hoppin'. Clearly people are itching to participate in this election. It's gonna be a nerve-wracking day, waiting for the returns. But given how disappointing the 2004, 2003 (recall election), 2002 and 2000 votes were, I can't bring myself to feel any optimism. Which is probably a good thing.
How was your voting experience this morning? Any long waits? Any mishaps?
