Classic Los Angeles TV: KHJ "Popeye" Host Bill Holly

Here's a great YouTube find: An old newscast from KHJ Channel 9 (now KCAL) from the late 1960s, as kids protest the seeming dismissal of Bill Holly, host of the channel's popular "Popeye" cartoons.

Turns out Bill was just on vacation. Following the KHJ news blurb is an actually segment from the "The Bill Holly Show" broadcast. (Thankfully, this was saved -- most video of local shows from that era is lost forever, as TV stations didn't realize their future value. Instead, tapes were routinely erased and reused. Sad but true.)
