Hollywood Apartments Get Ready For Their Closeup

Hollywood's re-emergence as L.A.'s clubbing capital seems to have had some impact on this year's TV development season. At least two projects revolve around young people living it up in a Hollywood apartment (much like the Hollywood Tower, above).

The CW is working on "The Wilton," an hour-long script from newcomers Ben and Dan Newmar, about a group of twentysomethings pursuing their dreams and living together in an old Hollywood apartment building (nicknamed the "Wilton Hilton").

At CBS, the single camera comedy "The Captain," from writer/director John Hamburg, centers on a young writer whose life starts to change when he moves into a legendary old Hollywood apartment building.

Once the Hollywood trend is exhausted, can we expect dramas and comedies about young hipsters finding love in downtown L.A.'s lofts?
