Blogger Toddler vs. the Subwoofer
Evan, Maria and I were playing with toy trains last night when Evan, out of the blue, sighs, "Me sad!"
"Why are you sad?" we ask, our hearts breaking at Evan's cute admission of emotion.
"Me lose the choo-choo in the tunnel!"
"Which choo-choo? Did you lose the blue one?" we asked. We'd noticed that the blue caboose, one of Evan's favorites, was missing.
"Me lose the blue choo-choo in the tunnel!"
Tunnel? We both start to wonder. "Where did you lose the choo-choo?" we ask again.
Evan leaps up. "Me show Mommy and Daddy!" He then races to the TV room.
We follow. Evan points to the subwoofer that's attached to our Panasonic DVD player. "In there!"
We shake the subwoofer -- sure enough, it's in there. Along with other things.
"Dadda, you fix it?" He looks at me with a concerned face.
"I dunno, Evan, it's pretty much stuck in there."
"Me sad!"
From our best guess, Evan has regularly been putting legos in there. The blue train is the largest and heaviest of all the stuff he's dropped in there.
The sound still appears to be OK. But we've got to find a way to prevent him from sticking more stuff in the subwoofer.
Any suggestions? How have any of you parents dealt with this?
