Where to Take Mom to Brunch It Up Next Sunday
Like, Sean Preston's taking me to the Claim Jumper for Mother's Day, y'all! Whattup!
JustJenn writes in and asks about the best Mother's Day brunches in LA.
For the past two years (and we're repeating the trend this year as well), Evan and I have taken Maria to Chado Tea Room in Pasadena for Mother's Day. I know, it's not actually brunch -- but who needs brunch, when Chado offers up some of the tastiest sandwiches (Souchong Chicken, yo!) in all of SoCal -- not to mention scones with clotted cream, cakes and other goodies.
Just be sure to (a) make a reservation, or you'll be waiting for a while and (b) avoid the 3rd Street location near the Beverly Center -- place is always closed for a shower of some sort.
Nonetheless, if you're looking for the whole big plate, eggs variety, LA.com has also put together a list of brunches to check out next Sunday. Most sound insanely expensive -- the $95 brunch at Sona sounds a bit insane. But the Border gals at Border Grill and Ciudad never disappoint, so I'd probably recommend the $32 brunch there.
