One of my favorite bands of the decade has easily been The Decemberists. The group regularly appears on Franklin Avenue's playlists, including our best-of Choice Cuts comps. ("Los Angeles, I'm Yours" and "16 Military Wives," among other tracks.) From Colin Meloy's voice to the band's catchy tunes and intriguing lyrics, it's all good.
That's why I'm excited about the band's orchestral debut on July 7, when they play the Hollywood Bowl with the Los Angeles Philharmonic.
