Last year, in a similar vein to our annual Great Los Angeles Walk, journalist/author Dan Koeppel organized the two-day Big Parade L.A., an urban hike centered on the various staircases of Los Angeles.
Koeppel is back with year two of the Big Parade L.A. -- moving it from July to June this year, and promising a slightly shorter course -- "so that more people can finish."
Koeppel is also promising a better camping arrangement -- told you this was hard core! -- and for those who want to hike the same number of miles as last year, he's also holding a "prologue walk" hosted by "Northeast L.A. stairway guru" Bob Inman.
From the site, some basic details:
DATES: JUNE5-612-13, with a prologue on June411.
DISTANCES: Approximately 35 miles, not including prologue.
STAIRWAY COUNT: We’re going for 101.
