Rockin' at the Los Angeles Zoo
Hipsters, meet the zoo. Zoo, meet the hipsters.
The Greater L.A. Zoo Association will open the doors late this Friday, Aug. 6, to present "Music In the Zoo: Local Scene Night." As performances take place throughout the zoo, certain animals will still be on display.
Event takes place from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. (the animals will be shown until 8). Attendees can bring a picnic.
"Local Scene Night" will include performances by Los Angeles bands the Happy Hollows, Voxhaul Broadcast, Useless Keys, The Lonely Wild, Walking Sleep and Slang Chickens. "Kidrockers" is also a part of the event, as the Happy Hollows and Useless Keys perform kid-friendly tunes.
A wine bar and gourmet food will also be available for purchase. Admission for GLAZA members is $12:50 for adults and $7.50 for children ages 6 to 15; non-members pay $16.50 for adults and $10.50 for children ages 6 to 15. Children 5 and under are free.
