Holidays Officially Begin: KOST Flips to All-Christmas Music

It's official: No matter how hard you try to delay it, the hectic holiday season has officially arrived.

That's because, yes, KOST-FM (103.5) yesterday flipped to its annual all-Christmas format.

The annual Yuletide orgy is big business for KOST, which always leaps to No. 1 in the December Arbitron ratings thanks to the non-stop Christmas music.

The switch happened on Thursday mid-morning, with Barry Manilow's "White Christmas," which is apparently a station tradition. (Why? I dunno.)

Here's a sample of a ten-song set from KOST this morning:

1. Vince Guaraldi Trio - Christmas Time Is Here
2. Jose Feliciano - Feliz Navidad
3. David Foster / Natalie Cole - Grown-up Christmas List
4. Andy Williams - It's The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year
5. Jackson 5 - Santa Claus Is Coming To Town
6. Carpenters - Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas
7. Leroy Anderson - Sleigh Ride
8. Bing Crosby - White Christmas
9. Bobby Helms - Jingle Bell Rock
10. Amy Grant - Winter Wonderland
