Spotted: Bogus Credit Card Sign
I was at the Valero gas station on Virgil when I dipped my credit card in the machine to start pumping gas. And then I saw it: The typical sticker found at businesses, noting that credit cards like Visa and Mastercard are accepted here.
Only it wasn't a typical sticker. And it wasn't for "Visa" or "Mastercard" -- but rather, Mad Magazine-style parodies.
Someone trying to make a statement on our consumer culture? On the insane price of gas? On the oil companies' greed? Or just someone having a random laugh? Here's the full sign:
