Sorry Hipsters, M83 Is Not Yours Anymore
Driving this morning to the final day of the TV Critics Association press tour this morning, I was flipping the radio dial when I heard M83's "Midnight City" on KROQ. Interesting -- a sign that M83 is going mainstream.
But then I flipped the dial again, and this surprised me: Between tracks by Pitbull and Nicki Minaj, Amp Radio 97.1 played -- you guessed it -- M83's "Midnight City." It was kind of bizarre. Somewhere in Echo Park, a hipster is weeping.
