This year's Coachella lineup, headlined by the Black Keys, Radiohead and Dr. Dre & Snoop Dogg -- over the course of two weekends for the first time, April 13-15 and April 20-22. What do you think? Any day in particular look better than the others? Disappointed? Thoughts?

Double Coachellas, OMG
Tickets for 2012 Coachella already go on sale this Friday, June 3, at 10 a.m. (and continue until June 10). But that's not the big news. The Coachella Festival announced on Tuesday that next year's event will be held over the course of two weekends: April 13-15, 2012 and April 20-22, 2012.
"That means same lineup, same art, same place, different people," the event's website proclaims. "We know many of you were unable to attend this year's festival because passes sold out much sooner than anticipated. We were truly surprised by the overwhelming response and remain honored by your passion and enthusiasm. We also know some of you purchased through non legitimate sources and were inconvenienced, gouged or totally scammed."
In other words, CO-ACHELLAS. Thanks, I'm here all week.

Spring Awakens Southern California
Maybe it was all that rain this winter, or the unusual cold snaps we experienced here in Southern California, but the arrival of spring seems especially sweet this year. We're not used to celebrating spring here, as there's never much of a difference between April and, say, February. But this year it feels like it.
Above, the view from our house on Saturday evening -- and of course, this Blackberry photo doesn't do the spectacular red, pink and orange sky justice. But it is a nice reminder of just how warm the past few evenings have been.
Any of you folks who went to Coachella this weekend, (a) I'm jealous but (b) not of the 100-degree heat. How did you cope?

Why You Won't See Us At Coachella
Sure, I'd love to see Prince, or the long-awaited Portishead reunion, or plenty of the bands on this year's lineup. But I also have no desire to cook under the 100 degree sun for 7 hours straight. Enjoy, folks, and I'll read all about what I missed.
