Who's Afraid of Al Pacino?

"Arrested Development" creator Mitch Hurwitz accepts the show's best comedy Emmy.

Franklin Avenue faves "Arrested Development" and "The Amazing Race" were big winners this evening at the Emmys. The wins for Arrested Development reflected the show's exceptional writers and actors; I just wish Jeffrey Tambor had won the best supporting actor Emmy over David Hyde Pierce.

"The Amazing Race" win was also sweet, if only for that brief moment when the smugness off The Donald's face was wiped off.

Kelsey Grammer's victory was well-deserved; he is a class act. Mike always has nice things to say about him after an interview and he seems like a genuine guy. "Angels In America" and "The Sopranos" victories were predictable, "The Daily Show" deserved their nod and I'm happy about Sarah Jessica Parker and Cynthia Nixon's statues.

I leave you with the two big questions for the night:

1. Why was Al Pacino given free reign on time while giving his speech?
2. I'm with Chris Rock, who the hell is Elaine Stritch?

Read Mike's coverage of the Emmys here; he promises party coverage tomorrow.
