Merry Christmas from the LAPD

Be careful today as you're out doing some last minute shopping around L.A. The Los Angeles Police Department appears to be out in full force.

Just on the drive to work, I counted no fewer than six cop cars or motorcycles. I managed to escape a ticket, but just barely: For some reason, I slammed on the brakes at one interesection (which had turned yellow), rather than risk running a red. Good thing I did: A pair of cycle cops were waiting a few feet on the other side.
