Rate A Restaurant, #56 in a series

Restaurant: Loteria Grill

Location: 6333 W 3rd St, Los Angeles (Farmers Market)

Type of restaurant: Mexican

They stipulated: It's an almost-always packed stand at the Farmers Market-- in other words, you may have to hunt for seating.

What we ordered: Maria: Mole Poblano Con Pollo burrito (Chicken in mole poblano: served with sesame seeds, finely chopped onion and queso fresco) $7.55; Mike: Cochinita Pibil burrito (Pork, slowly roasted in banana leaf: served with finely chopped onion and cilantro, and queso fresco) $7.55

High point: This is truly top-notch Mexican, and authentically delicious. The mix of flavors are unlike what you'll find just about anywhere. And going to Farmers Market is still a treat: We seem to discover something new everytime we're there. (This time it was the French wine and cheese store Monsieur Marcel Pain Vin et Fromage.)

Low point: Heading to the Farmers Market two days before Christmas might not have been the best idea. Parking was difficult, and the place was packed. But we found a table eventually, and the food didn't take too long.

Overall impression: This is one of the reasons why we love L.A. An unassuming taco stand in the middle of the bustling Farmers Market -- and it makes some of the best Mexican in all of L.A. The cochinita pibil is tender and juicy, while the mole poblano had its own unique flavor. Oh, and get your soda at Monsieur Marcel. It's 65 cents, rather than the $1.50/can you'll find at most of the Market's establishments.

Chance we will go back: We'll be there again. I can still taste the cochinita pibil. Mmm.
