Now that the warm weather has finally returned to Los Angeles (80 degrees today and tomorrow!), this is the weekend to skate down to Pershing Square's annual Downtown on Ice.
It was there on Thanksgiving Eve 2001 that I proposed to Maria, so we have a special fondness for the spot. But it's truly a wonderful Los Angeles experience.
But one pointer: Go at night. Not only is it a treat to skate under the shimmering lights of downtown Los Angeles' skyscrapers, but it's much less crowded -- in particular, fewer kids (who you're destined to trip over on this small rink) are still on ice.
Downtown on Ice will be one of the spots I take my family when they arrive in a few weeks. What are some of your favorite L.A. holiday spots for both locals and visitors? Comment below!
