Product Placement

Sometimes crass commercialism can be a good thing -- take M&M's "Star Wars" tie-in.


For a limited time, M&Ms has come out with a dark chocolate flavor, nicknamed the "Darth mix." As a fan of limited-edition flavor lines, I gotta say, the dark chocolate M&Ms deliver.

On the other hand, sometimes crass commercialism is just that -- crass.


"American Idol" Pop Tarts, covered in red, white and blue. (Sorry, no "Scott Savol Strawberry" or "Constantine Cream" flavor.) No.
