It's been a while since we took some screen grabs of commercials shot in L.A. -- here are two I caught just watching "The Daily Show" last night:
FedEx currently has a spot that follows a group of co-workers who climb into a bus in downtown L.A...
... and pass over the Los Angeles river as they embark on a lengthy ride to their work retreat, at a far-away ranch. When they finally arrive, the CEO gathers them and asks them to come up with ways to save the company money. One staffer quickly suggests using FedEx for their shipping. The CEO approves -- and immediately sends them back home.
The second ad came from Mobil, which utilizes the Bonaventure hotel -- a staple in L.A. ads, particularly car spots shot in downtown -- to promote its logo.
